ZVIMBA residents have been urged to embrace and support the national project that will see relocation of the capital to Mt Hampden.

Zvimba Rural District Council acting chief executive officer Mr Lawrence Mushayabasa made the call during an interview with The Sunday Mail Online on Wednesday.

“The relocation of Harare’s central business district to our doorstep is an important national project.

“As such, Zvimba residents must embrace this project with enthusiasm and give all the support that it deserves,” he said.

On Wednesday, President Mnangagwa broke ground on the site of a multi-million-dollar Cyber City in Mt Hampden.

It marked the beginning of the construction of Harare’s new city, which straddles across 15 500 hectares.

The area borders Harare, Zvimba and Mazowe.
