A ZIMBABWEAN company with interests in mining has been nominated for a prestigious continental award, in a testament to the Second Republic’s enabling business operating environment.
Baldmin Holdings were recently nominated in the Engineering Small to Medium Scale Companies category of the African Company of the Year Awards (ACOYA).
ACOYA recognises companies across Africa that demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable business practices.
Baldmin Holdings is a key player in mining as it mainly caters for small and medium miners across the continent by offering custom-made equipment solutions.
“This nomination is a tremendous honour,” said Engineer Costar Takawira, chief executive officer at Baldmin Holdings.
“Client satisfaction is of paramount importance.
“The company prioritizes high-quality products, good corporate governance, and exceptional customer service.
“This ensures that miners receive reliable equipment, backed by strong business practices and a commitment to their needs.”
Hundreds of scholars have also benefited from the company’s scholarship programs, with some getting educational opportunities in Zimbabwe and as far as the United States of America.
“It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. We believe in continuous learning and development, and that philosophy is a cornerstone of our success.”
Takawira attributes the company’s achievements to its strong company culture that fosters continuous learning and empowerment of employees.
“Looking towards the future, Baldmin is actively investing in its growth,” said Engineer Takawira.
The company has undergone a massive transformation in recent years and Eng Takawira attributes this to the Second Republic’s governance.
Baldmin Holdings are set to increase its production by building a facility that will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery from China.
The new facility is expected to be completed by February 2025 and will create more employment opportunities for Zimbabweans.
Baldmin’s nomination for the ACOYA award puts Zimbabwe’s manufacturing sector on the international stage, showcasing the country’s potential for innovation and excellence.
The company’s commitment to local investment and job creation aligns perfectly with the government’s vision of promoting domestic industry and attracting foreign investment.
