NGEZI Platinum Stars coach Tonderayi Ndiraya believes he has built a strong squad that can land the league title but thinks rivals FC Platinum can give his side a good run for their money in the 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League race.

After watching his side cruise to victory over Bulawayo City courtesy of a Terrence Dzvukamanja brace and one apiece from Marlon Mushonga and Tichaona Mabvura at Baobab yesterday, Ndiraya was left convinced.

“We have assembled a very good team this season and there is nothing that can stop us from winning the title though I feel FC Platinum can give us a challenge,” said Ndiraya.

“In all fairness it was not an easy win for us, and I am impressed with the four goals that we scored today and it is a good sign of a team which is gunning for a championship,” he added.

Bulawayo City coach Amini Soma Phiri also tipped Ngezi Platinum Stars to win the league title saying there was nothing he could do to stop the log leaders.

“We played very well and playing Ngezi you know it is a well-built team and it is a championship material and there is nothing you can say about it,” said Phiri.

Dzvukamanja put Ngezi Platinum ahead in the 15th minute before he completed his brace in the 81st minute from the penalty spot, after Michael Charamba had his heels clipped by Rainsome Pavari from a goal scoring position resulting in a penalty kick and a straight red card for the Bulawayo City defensive linkman.

Mushonga scored Madamburo’s second goal of the afternoon in the 26th minute before Mabvura sealed the win in the 85th minute, tapping in Michael Charamba’s rebound.
