NEWLY-PROMOTED Premiership side Ngezi Platinum are ready to roll and unveiled the logo they will use during the 2016 season at a colourful ceremony yesterday.

Ngezi Platinum won the Northern Region promotion ticket and will make their maiden appearance in the top-flight.

The event had Minister of Sports Makhosini Hlongwane as the guest of honor.

Ngezi Platinum president Stanley Segula talked about the long journey they travelled to bring Premiership football to Mashonaland West.

“I am excited to be with you this evening as we launch the team, whose fairytale rise into the Premier League, we celebrate tonight (yesterday).

“This was no mean achievement for a team originally known as Ngezi Sporto FC which started playing social soccer in 2001 and saw a significant step change as the club started playing competitive soccer and qualified to join the ZIFA Mashonaland West Division 2B in 2004.

“The club changed its name to Ngezi Platinum Stars FC in 2008 to realign with the business of the company,” said Segula.

Segula believes the Premiership will not be easy ride but promised they will do their best.
