Shava gets Parliament seat

Zanu-PF’s Cde Josephine Shava is now the Mashonaland West Proportional Representative Member of Parliament following the gazetting of her appointment by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission yesterday.

Cde Shava fills the vacancy left by Cde Joan Tsogorani, who passed away in September last year.

According to the Government Gazette, Cde Shava’s appointment as the party-list member of the National Assembly came to effect yesterday.

“The public is hereby notified, in terms of section 39(7)(a) of the Electoral Act (Chapter2:13), that Josephine Shava, a registered voter in Ward 14 of Kadoma Municipality, of 4232, Ngezi, Kadoma, Mashonaland West Province, who was nominated by the Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) party to fill the vacancy in the party list members of the National Assembly that occurred following the death of Joan Tsogorani, has been appointed as a party-list member of the National Assembly with effect from the date of publication of this notice,” said Zec chairperson Justice Rita Makarau in the notice.

Zec gazetted the nomination of Cde Shava to Parliament by Zanu-PF last month.
