SUNGURA musician, Mark Ngwazi, has a soft spot for children.
He says he does not want to see children suffering at the hands of their parents or guardians.
The Njanja Express boss says his song, Nyaradzo Yababa, is dedicated to children who are abused by their guardians.
Speaking to H-Metro, Ngwazi made it clear that the song was not about his life but rather about the lives of children who have been mistreated.
“I wanted to write something that warmly embraces all the people who have lost their loved ones in life.
“I tried to imagine how it would be if they could sing and express how much they miss them.
“When composing songs, we are more focused on the events that surround us, I dedicated the song to children who are being ill-treated by their guardians.”
Ngwazi believes the song talks about the reality many people are facing.
“This song is about losing someone, feeling like everyone and every situation is against you.
“Some people are trying to push through and ease the pain of loss but certain things, and the treatment they face from relatives, just bring them back into it,” he said.
Blessed with a unique song writing technique, Ngwazi sings music with substance, an indication sungura is in safe hands.
