Nhau steers firm through difficult period

Mr Nhau, who took up his position with Mike Appel in 2005, was chief executive of Lintas, a major advertising agency, for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Lintas he was head of administration at Nestle Zimbabwe.

Mr Nhau has sat on or chaired the boards of several organisations, including the boards of Finhold, TZI, the National Social Security Authority, Beta Holdings, Cottco, AICO, Riozim and Nestle Zimbabwe.
Lindsay Chanakira, who joined the organisation in 2009, is group finance director. He has 11 years experience in finance working in various industries that include the paper, plastic, detergent, beverage, manufacturing and automotive engineering sectors.

He was actively involved in the Mike Appel Organisation’s diversifying into the generator business.
Mr Chanakira has trained with organisations such as Art Corporation, Mukundi Plastics and Rainbow Beverages.

He holds a Masters degree in Finance from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and is in the final stages of obtaining the Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification.
Benjamin Funani, a qualified mechanical engineer, is Mike Appel’s operations general manager. He recently joined Mike Appel after working for Nissan Clover Leaf Motors for more than six years in a senior operations capacity. He has also worked for BMA fasteners as assistant engineer.

Mr Funani holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Zimbabwe.
Bridget Kazembe is the Mike Appel Organisaiton’s human resources manager. She has more than 10 years experience in the private sector at senior management level. She has a passion for industrial relations and staff development.

She holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Politics and Administration, a postgraduate diploma in law (conciliation and arbitration) and an Institute of Personnel Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ) higher diploma.
