NIGHT OF HEAVENLY HARMONY

IT was a beautiful night of praise and worship as several gospel musicians reunited for a concert dubbed “Gospel Legends Night” at the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday.

The iconic Charambas, Baba Machanic Manyeruke, Takesure Zamar and Minister Michael Mahendere, were among the performers. Even though the crowd was not a big one, the musicians who performed at the event managed their stage performances well.

The gospel icons were honoured with certificates and a package of hampers.

The event was headlined by The Charambas.

Other performers were Pastor G, Pastor Haisa, Carol Mujokoro, Shuvai Wutawunashe, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Prince Mafukidze, Pastor Bonnie Deuschle, Minister Michael Mahendere, Mathias Mhere and South African gospel icon Sipho Makhabane.

The audience at the HICC could not let Baba Manyeruke leave the stage without performing one of his hit songs ‘Madhimoni.’

He had completed his slot when the crowd started clamouring for him to return on stage and play “Madhimoni.’

And, like the humble legend that he is, he returned to the stage and played the song.

Minister Mahendere was also a big hit with  the crowd. The charismatic musician wowed the audience with his impressive dancing skills and infectious energy.

Minister Mahendere was clearly the best performer of the night.

He displayed different dancing routines as he performed his songs like ‘Tangai Neni’ and ‘Guta,’ much to the delight of fans.

The ageless Sipho Makhabane also gave a vintage performance with his old-time hits that were clearly popular among the fans.

His arrival on the stage was met with thunderous applause and the fans clearly showed that there is still a big connection between them and the musician.

Zamar also left his mark with his songs like ‘Agere Pachigaro.’

Pastor Haisa’s hit song “Burukai” was also popular with the fans.

Pastor G unleashed a torrent of heartfelt worship and praise songs which resonated well with the crowd.

Fungisai brought the house down with a blazing performance, combining a brilliantly crafted set with electrifying choreography.

United Kingdom-based songstress, Eleana Makombe, the brains behind the Legends show, also showed she is also good as an artist.
