Njelele returns to Chipangano

FORMER Hwange defence rock Norman Njelele has retraced his footsteps to the coal mining town in an effort to resuscitate his football career. Njelele was part of the Division One championship winning team after Chipangano were relegated to the lower league in 2008.

He was however, unceremoniously shown the exit by the club after he was accused of being mastermind of a players’ revolt over salaries.
“I have since started training with Hwange as I believe this is my second home. I only hope to be registered since I am also a free agent,” said Njelele who was with relegation threatened side Motor Action.

Hwange head coach Nation Dube confirmed the presence of Njelele but seemed to suggest that the former Black Rhinos player might be registered next season.

“He is training with us. He came here to visit his wife and that is when I urged him to take up his football boots. His fitness levels were low but now one can see the old Njelele,” said Dube.

He said they would have loved to register Njelele for the 2013 season but they could not since they already have the required 25 senior players.

“The only space we have is for the juniors or else we have to deregister one senior player in order to accommodate Njelele,” said Dube.
Hwange are facing an uncertain future in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League as they are on 12th position on the standings.
They have to work very hard if they are to survive relegation.

Meanwhile, former Hwange captain Obert Moyo is back in the country after being offloaded by his Absa Premiership side Platinum Stars.
Moyo and Njelele formed a good combination which together with Hlanganani Ngwenya and Alick Nyoni.
