Nkulumane sets Police League on fire

THE ZRP Bulawayo Province Soccer League kicked off with some exciting action.
The league has 19 police teams drawn from the greater Bulawayo Metropolitan Province where police officers showcase their talent every Wednesday as they mingle and share work related ideas, and promote wellness.

Defending Champions Humbled
Pick of the fixtures was the one pitting the defending champions Entumbane and second runners-up the CBD Boys, Bulawayo Central clashed at Emakhandeni.

Bulawayo Central won 2-0. Mpumelelo Ndebele was on target and the other an own goal.
The speedy Ndebele was the tormentor in chief running rings around the Entumbane defence.

Could Wednesday’s defeat have marked the end of an era for Mandisi Nyathi’s charges.
Nkulumane thrash Traffic

It was as if traffic lights were not working and there was a sudden vehicular rush. Nkulumane were no match for the visitors at a match played Nkulumane Library Pitch as they beat Traffic 6-0.

It was an all Anesu Saiti show with the diminutive skillful forward like a thorn in the flesh for miserable Traffic. They might have lost an equally good Hloniphani Tshuma but in Saiti, a marvel to watch, they have gained a star who could be a hit this season.

On his debut, the recently graduated striker, scored a hat-trick, with Obey Mbofana weighing in with two goals.
Wilton Tshabangu never put a foot wrong, scored once to complete the rout.
Pumula held at Ndola

There was a share of spoils at Ndola in Iminyela as Western Commonage played host to Pumula.
The home team took the lead through Emmanuel Runochinya before Clinton Muleya levelled the scores with a trademark long range freekick which reduced the goalminder to a mere spectator.

Dribbling wizard Isaac Mufara added the second for Pumula and Handsome Moyo scored for West Commonage to make it 2-2.
Both teams tried to salvage a late winner but time limited the scoreline to a draw.
Tshabalala edge Hillside

At Nketa Six Grounds, Tshabalala, one of the star-studded teams in the league edged Hillside by a goal to nil, thanks to a wonderful strike from Munyaradzi Mupfawa.

Despite a committed display by Hillside’s Chris Dzowa in attack, he and his colleagues, they found Amos Dzenga unyielding at the heart of the Tshabalala defence.

CID hold SauersPark
Across town at Crescent Sports Club, the detectives (CID) and SauersPark played a 1-1 draw.
Wellington Mlambo scored the only goal for the CID and the speedy forward Prince Chininga scored for SauersPark.
Njube and Luveve share spoils

At Mtshede Primary School in Njube, the hosts played a 1-1 all draw with Luveve who struggled the entire 2024 season.
Joseph Ndlovu and Silence Ziseche scored a goal each for Njube and Luveve respectively.
