After mesmerising fans last month with a stellar performance, seasoned contemporary Afro Pop and Jazz musician Nomathamsanqa Nkwali will be making a return at Vivo Safari as she will be headlining a gig on Thursday (25 April).
The show comes as a Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) special gig, to provide top of the drawer performance for visitors who will be attending the exhibition running from 23 to 27 April.
Dubbed Original Music – Live Session, the idea of the live session is credited to drummer Erasmus Nleya and Vivo Safari who created a session of live perfomance gigs as a manner of giving local artistes a platform to perform in front of an organic and diverse crowd.
Throughout the evening, Nkwali said she will be belting some of her hits from a comprehensive set list that defines who she is.
“It’s the second time for me to perform at Vivo and its an honour that I am returning with this event as it is by fans’ special request.
“I will incorporate an impressive selection of hits from my prolific catalog, including Halala Lozikeyi, Nyawo Lwami, Mntanami and many more,” said Nkwali.
On her last event at the night spot, Nkwali launched her latest track titled Sengihamba. She composed the song together with Dumisani Gumpo, with Ezra Tshisa Sibanda credited on the pproduction segment.
“The song was submitted and its enjoying a fair share of airplay and people appreciate it. I will perform the single again on the upcoming show because it has become one of the people’s favourites. I will also do a few cover songs on special requests,” she said.
