Zimbabwe’s Afro-Dancehall sensation, Nutty O, is back at it again with his single, “Normalise”, set to drop on February 26. Following the success of his empowering anthem, “Jegera”, released last September, Nutty O continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of rhythm and thought-provoking lyrics.
“Normalise” serves as a fitting sequel to “Jegera”, where Nutty O collaborated with fellow Zimbabwean music giants Freeman HKD and rising star Master H. According to a press statement from his management, the upcoming single is designed to echo the themes of hope and resilience that have become synonymous with Nutty O’s music.
Nutty O, whose real name is Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa, shared insights about the new project.
“We’re coming from the season of holding on, with Jegera, and as we go, we have to #Normalise using the time we have in life to live in our best version. We must normalise loving family, and friends, spreading love, and making special moments that matter and more.”

At 32 years old, Nutty O has already established himself as a multiple award-winning singer-songwriter. He operates under his own brand, Ability Xtention (ABX), symbolising his commitment to continuous growth in the music industry. Since launching his career in 2013, Nutty O has hit numerous milestones, from chart-topping hits to headline performances across Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.
His debut record “Mustard Seed” received critical acclaim, paving the way for a stellar 2022, during which he swept three awards, including Best Album and Song of the Year. This year, he made headlines again by being featured posthumously by Bob Marley in the reimagined album “Africa Unite”.
The production of “Normalise” reaffirms Nutty O’s collaborative spirit, as he teamed up with his trusted producers, DJ Tamuka and Angeo Pablo, who have been instrumental in crafting masterpieces for both imbabwe and the international stage.
Beyond his musical endeavours, Nutty O is also known for his philanthropic efforts, including paying tuition for underprivileged students.
