Bishop B. Manjoro Dunamis
I heard one honourable servant of God say this is a year of mega grace. Mega means big. Big grace, big favour.
No matter how the first third of the year has been like for you, remain steadfast and expectant to God’s favour! Wisdom also says that you can’t continue doing what you were doing in past years and past months and expect different results. Something somewhere must change.
It can’t be so, that from 2010 you are being laid hands on so that you progress and yet you have remained the same. You see, fertiliser is good, it helps plants grow and do well; yet if we put it in a field but with no water nothing will grow. What am I saying to you in these riddles? Going to church is good, jumping and celebrating is also good but if you are holding on to your old ways, keeping charms for various things in your life, then you are not going anywhere in life! This is one of the major areas which have led many to be entangled in the web of the wicked one — mixing the gospel with use of charms.
Read on as I share with you this secret and how to untangle yourself from the hands of the enemy and unlock God’s mega favour and blessing.
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God,” Exodus 20:4-5.
O hallelujah, the Scripture above shows us God’s mind concerning having anything in your life that takes God’s glory. Friends hear me today, the God we serve is a jealous God. He does not want his place in your life to be taken by anything, not only here on earth but also in heaven above or beneath the earth.
Use of charms amongst children of God kindles God’s anger and jealous. It means you will be trusting in other things than him, to bless you or keep you. He does not want you to have anything that disturbs your trust in Him. He is a jealous God.
Charms are not a part of God’s Kingdom. You could probably be hearing this for the first time — cheer up, it’s never too late to line up to God’s Word.
Let me tell you a little story. You see when I got saved in 1966, I went to church one Sunday and heard people testifying how God was powerfully working in their lives, protecting and blessing them.
When I heard the testimonies I said to myself O this is very good. With this kind of God in my life, plus my box of charms back home, ah, I am now strong and untouchable! O I like it. Back at home I had my trunk for school books but it had another use also; it was my pharmacy since it kept all sorts and types of charms for any ailment that could come my way.
I was young spiritually and didn’t know that now that I was born again, I no longer needed charms. Upon discovering the truth of the Word, do you know what I did? I took the trunk to church and had all the charms burnt. Here is my testimony, from 1966 until today, I have not lived on charms but on the power of the Word of God, hallelujah. It can be done, it’s possible!
But bishop, is it that bad to use these things? I will also ask you, is it good to lift hands in church and worship side by side with someone who has been feeding porridge to his/her snake back home? Is it OK to dance together in church when that very person next to you has a snake on their waist like an ornament? No, no, no, that is not church! That is not the kingdom. Let the church be the church and the kingdom be the kingdom! O hallelujah! He is a jealous God. OK, supposed you get blessed in your family, finances or at work, can you gladly come back and testify, eh pastor God has been good to me, God has blessed me. Ah come on, be quiet. How do you know it’s God who blessed you when you have also been keeping pfuta, grounded powders and various charms and concoctions in your drawers at work and under your pillow at home? He is a jealous God and does not want all that. But bishop, what about good charms or those ones for women. Charms are charms reader; there are no good charms and bad charms because they all carry a spirit behind.
By now you could be thinking, So pastor, what do I do with my charms? Bring them so that we burn them! From 1966 when I gave my life to the Lord, I have lived on God and not charms. Mishonga ngaipiswe (let charms be burnt). But what if I flash them in the toilet at home or work? The Bible says they brought them to church and burnt them.
“Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed,” Acts 19:19-20. I have often told people in our church that if you are an old Christian and shy to come up with your stuff, you can nicely wrap it and bring it at service or church office or to a pastor. You just say ndauya nezvinhu zviye zvaitaurwa nabishop (This is the parcel bishop was talking about). They will know that its stuff to be burnt! I like it when evil things are destroyed, the Kingdom of God prevails! The point is — the charms you have must be burnt!
2015 is a year of mega grace, big supernatural favour! Get charms out of the way. This is your word from the Lord today, No charms in the kingdom! And if you want to benefit from the favour of God in this year — burn your charms and trust in the Lord alone. Amen. For with God all things are possible, Mark 10:27
