NO GOAL FOR DEMBARE’S PLAYERS IN 11 HRS, 38MINS

IT’S now 11 hours 38 minutes since anyone, who is on the payroll of Dynamos, scored a league goal.

To put it into context, four months have passed since any of the players who have been at the Glamour Boys, since last season, were on target in a league match.

DeMbare were held to a 1-1 draw by TelOne at Rufaro on Saturday.

The visitors scored an own goal which means that no player, on the Dynamos payroll, has scored a goal since the opening day of the new season.

Namibian forward Sadney Urikhob, the last man to score for Dynamos in the past 698 minutes, has since moved to Scottland.

He has already scored for his new club.

The last time a Dynamos player, who is not Urikhob, scored a league goal was on November 3, last year.

That was the day when Emmnauel Ziocha and Valentine Kadonzvo scored twice within the first 22 minutes as DeMbare beat FC Platinum 2-0 at Rufaro.

That defeat all but ended the championship dreams of Norman Mapeza and his men.

Kadonzvo scored the insurance goal in the 22nd minute after Ziocha had opened the scoring.

DeMbare did not score in the next three league games against ZPC Kariba (0-0), Manica Diamonds (0-0) and Ngezi Platinum Stars (0-2) at Baobab.

Urikhob then scored for them in their final league game of the season in a 1-2 defeat at the hands of GreenFuel in Chisumbanje.

Lloyd “MaBlanyo” Chigowe’s men opened their new campaign with a goalless draw against ZPC Kariba at Rufaro.

They were then held to a goalless draw by Herentals at Rufaro in their second game.

Their third game was against TelOne, who are coached by their former gaffer Herbert Maruwa, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Misfiring DeMbare needed an own goal by the visitors for them to register their name on the scoresheet.

The Glamour Boys have played all their three league games at Rufaro where they are expected to win games.

Their toothless strikeforce was their Achilles Heel last season.

DeMbare were the only members of the Big Three clubs, which include Highlanders and CAPS United, who failed to score more than 30 goals in the league last season. The Glamour Boys scored 29 league goals in 34 matches while Bosso scored 43 goals and the Green Machine scored 38 goals.
