LLOYD Mutasa says his mission is to serve Green Fuel and is not worried about the role he is assigned to play in that service.
He became the first coach to lose his job after a 0-1 away defeat to Yadah.
He is now a technical director while Bekhi Ndlovu has taken over as the head coach.
‘‘I’m here because my employers have confidence in my abilities and, mind you, when I came here I had just won two championships,” he said.
“Last season I added another one with this project, I don’t need to prove my capacity.
‘‘This new post is something that can help to take my career somewhere and there is no bad blood at the club, everything is being done in the best interest of the club.”
Green Fuel are scheduled to host Herentals at Gibbo tomorrow.
The two sides are seeking redemption after losing their opening fixtures.
Mutasa guided the Ethanol Boys into the PSL to claim his third championship in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League.
He had an unbeaten record and conceded just five times in the process.
And, should Green Fuel pull a shocker by winning the championship, Mutasa will be left with a bitter pill to swallow having experienced this at Dynamos and FC Platinum.
Interestingly, these two clubs went on to win four league titles on the trot and many credited him for building the foundation for their success.
Mutasa laid the foundation for Dynamos’ success, which started in 2011, when he assembled a youthful squad, which went on to illuminate the PSL with players like Denver Mukamba and Devon Chafa.
His stay was cut short after a series of poor results despite the team playing entertaining football.
