THE Nomination Court is sitting at Beitbridge Rural District Council (BBRDC) to receive documents from candidates interested in contesting the Ward 14 seat, which fell vacant in December last year following the passing on of Councillor Milton Ndou.

By midday today, seasoned politician Cde Thamson Lamula Ndou, who emerged victorious in the ZANU PF primary elections held in Ward 14 on Friday, had submitted his nomination papers at the court.

The court is expected to close for business by 4:30 pm on Wednesday. The by-election is scheduled to take place on February 21, and Cde Ndou’s victory marks a significant step in the party’s bid to retain the seat.

In a recent post- primary elections interview, Cde Ndou, a renowned farmer, pledged to prioritise community engagement and consultations during his tenure if elected into office.
