THE World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league raffle draw which was scheduled for last week has been moved to next month as the organisers engage another partner to assist in selling the tickets.
The raffle is part of the deal that Japanese car dealer, World Navi, entered into with the Zifa Northern Region, as part of the sponsorship package that will see two fans winning cars in the draw.

The third car will be given to the Top Player of the Year at the end of the season.

The draw was scheduled for October 26 during one of the Yadah TV Knock-out Cup games, which were postponed to tomorrow.

However, the draw will now be held on November 29 with the organisers hoping to have sold more tickets by then.

The tickets were supposed to be sold during the league games at different venues with the organisers hoping to sale 200 000 tickets.

But Northern Region chairman, Willard Manyengavana said the response has been slow and they have engaged another partner to assist in selling the tickets.

Each ticket costs a dollar.

“It was a bit slow, this is why we have to look for a partner to assist us. We are hoping that by November 29 we would have sold a reasonable number.

“We are holding a draw for one car at the moment with the view of conducting another draw when we register for another raffle licence. The licence we got is for one car.

“We have identified a corporate, which will help us sell the raffle tickets and I think we will be able to sell a lot of them,” said Manyengavana.

He said they feel they did not have enough time to sell the tickets after they got their licence from the Ministry of Home Affairs to operate the raffle a bit late.

The sale of the raffle tickets was supposed to start on August 1 but they got the licence towards the end of September.
