Norton Community Suspends Five Members Over Allegations Of Match Fixing Against Scottland

Northern Region Soccer League side Norton Community has suspended five members on allegations of match fixing after the team lost 7-0 to title chasing Scottland last Friday.

Norton Community has suspended its entire technical team and two executive members on allegations that they influenced the team to lose the match.

“We notify the public about the suspension of 5 team members with immediate effect. As of 16 October 2024, they no longer partake on any club activities until further notice,” read part of the statement from Norton Community.

“The suspensions resulted from an investigation following a review of the matchday 33, Scottland Fc vs Norton Community at Rufaro Stadium, over allegations of match fixing which violates our club Policies/Rules. The club takes these allegations seriously and we are committed in maintaining the highest standards of conduct and sportsmanship.”

The suspended team members are
Clemence Masunda and Willard Nguwoyembwa, [Coaches), Brandon Bere, (Goal Keeper),Tafadzwa Kuyerukana (Executive Member) and Patrick Nyamayaro (Executive Members).
