Fast rising Zim Dancehall artiste Khizolamaak is set to release a powerful song titled Hatirare, a joint that addresses the exploitation of artistes by promoters in Bulawayo.
The song will be launched on 26 October on Skyz Metro FM and will be made available on his YouTube channel – Bwoi Khizolamaak Online.
The song, which also features another upcoming artiste Jah Miller, was recorded at Tycoon Entertainment in Mzilikazi and was produced by Tflow Da Producer.
The song blends Ndebele and Shona languages, reflecting Khizolamaak’s commitment to promoting Zimbabwean culture.
Khizolamaak, whose real name is Keith Sibanda, says the song is a call for action for artistes to stand up against exploitation.
“As artistes, we need to value our art and demand respect from promoters. Most up and coming artistes have been short-changed by bogus promoters who make us perform for free whilst they make money through us.
“On this project, I challenged myself by composing the song with two common languages in Zimbabwe which are Ndebele and Shona as a way of allowing people to relate with the themes and concerns of the song,” said Khizolamaak.
Khizolamaak began his music career in 2019.
He has performed at notable events like the Bulawayo Shutdown, Beer Festival, and Intwasa Arts Festival.
He has also collaborated with prominent artistes such as Bazooker, Ma9nine, Tebza, and Mzoe 7.
The Zimdancehall chanter is also a Brand Ambassador for Bee for Bee Boutique.
