THE ZIFA Mashonaland West Division 2 East League is set for a thrilling encounter as Norton Big Boys host Norton Community in a highly-anticipated derby of two sides who command sizeable support in the town.

Although they might be living in the shadows of Premiership log leaders MWOS, the two sides enjoy their own unique rivalry.

Norton Community, who were relegated from the Northern Region Division One League last season, will look to bounce back against their local rivals.

Yet Norton Big Boys coach Marvelous Gaddafi Gutuza is brimming with confidence that his charges will emerge victorious.

“My team wants to show they are the “big boys for real,’’ Gutuza said.

“It is going to be an exciting game playing against a team that was once in the Division One league and got relegated,” Gutuza said.

“We want to show them that we are the big boys for real, we are not here to play games.

“I have confidence in my players, I know they will not disappoint. We are looking forward to collecting maximum points. And we also want to have a peaceful derby’’.

Gutuza has urged rival fans to desist from violent acts which dent the image of the game.

“It is going to be an exciting game playing against a team that was once in Division One and got relegated.”

In other matches, GZone face Norton Bullets, Sodbury Scorpions entertain Truck City and Shepherd Reef clash against MWOS Under-17.

But it is the derby match which promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams looking to make a statement in the league.

Fixtures:

GZone v Norton Bullets, Sodbury Scorpions v Truck City, Bonzim v Fish Eagle, Norton Big Boys v Norton Community, Triple C Pigs v Rukuma Grassroots, FC Moyomutema v Chingwere, Lilfordia v Rubwe Sharks, Afrochine v Turf Wolves, Shepherd Reef v MWOS U17.
