FRENCH Ligue 1 outfit, Lille OSC, reportedly appears to have lost interest in signing Mamelodi Sundowns and Zimbabwe midfield talisman, Khama Billiat, despite his fine season in the Absa Premiership.
South African media has previously reported on the fact that several clubs outside of Mzansi were keeping tabs on the 25-year-old Absa Premiership Footballer, Playersa�� Player and Midfielder of the Year a�� with Lille having beforehand sent scouts to watch him last year.
Now, with the likes of Monaco believed to be interested in him, there seems to be a chance that the Brazilians midfield dynamo could be on his way to new pastures ahead of the 2016 /17 season.
However, in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma the Siya crew reportedly tracked down Christophe Jeannot a�� who went to South Africa to watch Billiat for Lille last year a�� and he said there was a�?no interest for usa�? when asked about a potential move for the Zimbabwe international.
Billiat scored 12 goals and grabbed 14 assists for Sundowns in 2015 /16 as he helped them romp to the Absa Premiership title, and given his importance to Pitso Mosimanea��s side a�� plus the two years remaining on his contract a�� any club that wants him will have to pay big money in order to tempt Patrice Motsepe to sell.
