Notorious Cowdray Park goblins back

Terror goblins have struck again in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo using the same modus operandi a stoning houses at night.

In October last year this publication carried an article in which Cowdray Park residents expressed relief after a goblin named a?Ernest Ndlovua? that had been terrorising the community was destroyed by prophets.

However, the peace was short-lived as it is reported that the residents are once again being subjected to suspected goblins that are said to be stoning several houses every night.

The alleged goblins strike after 8pm.

Leaving the comfort of their houses at night has become a nightmare for community members residing in the Garikai section of the suburb.

a?Everyday at around 8pm we have to make sure everyone is at home because that is when the goblins start throwing stones at houses. We cannot even get out because we fear being stoned to death.

a?Last year a cleansing ceremony was carried out and we thought that we would have peaceful lives. Right now we do not even know how we will be helped because we fear these goblins can be killed but later on attack us again,a? said a resident who preferred anonymity.

Councillor Collet Ndlovu said the situation might end up with residents losing their property to vandalism.

a?We are concerned people might end up losing their property because of these goblins. Residents are even afraid of getting out of their houses at night,a? said Ndlovu.

Councillor Ndlovu added that they were organising a cleansing ceremony to remove the goblins.

a?People expressed concern and pleaded for an immediate solution before the attacks get serious. We requested every household in the community to contribute one dollar so that we pay prophets who will only conduct the cleansing ceremony after being paid $400. We hope they will do a good job and stop this terror before it gets out of hand,a? he said.
