The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) is set to construct a multi-million-dollar commercial complex in Chipinge starting November this year.
This comes after NSSA completed state-of-the-art commercial buildings in Beitbridge, Gwanda and Bindura.
According to the project plan, construction is expected to commence in November this year and work will be completed by October 2016.
Speaking at a consultative meeting on Wednesday, NSSA project manager Mrs Silibaziso Chizwina said the project is set to turn the fortunes of Chipinge district.
She said more benefits will follow as employment opportunities will be created by the project.
“The project is intended to provide the people of Chipinge with a new shopping experience.
“The positioning of the facility at the centre of the town will afford the people of Chipinge easy access to services.
“The project principles stipulate that the labour force should be sourced from the local people save for skilled workforce which might not be readily available in the district, “she said
NSSA regional manager Mr Simon Gombiro said his organisation feels indebted to invest in Chipinge since they have been receiving NSSA contribution from the district since 1994.
Chipinge Town Council chairperson Mr Ziyengwa Lovemore Huni said the project is welcome, as it changes the face of the town.
“We need all stakeholders in Chipinge to support the project because there are many benefits attached to it,” he said.
