NSSA to create employment in Chipinge

THE National Social Security Authority has begun the construction of a multi-million-dollar commercial complex which is set to create employment for scores of Chipinge residents. A Chinese company, Natong Construction Company, won the tender to construct the complex and is already working with the Ministry of Labour for the recruitment of people in the district.

The District Administrator, Mr Edgars Seenza, said the Ministry of Labour was calling on interested job seekers in the district to register their names with their offices ahead of selection this month.

“Yes, we are mobilising all job seekers to register their names with the Ministry of Labour because selection is imminent. This is the chance for job seekers in the district to try their luck at this multi-million-dollar complex. NSSA approached us last year indicating that they are willing to employ a number of Chipinge unemployed job seekers,” he said. Speaking at a site visit recently, NSSA project manager, Mrs Silibaziso Chizwina, said the project was set to uplift the lives of local residents.

She said a ground-breaking ceremony was on cards where the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs, Cde Mandi Chimene, and other dignitaries would be invited to celebrate the historic event in Chipinge. “The project will not benefit our organisation alone but is also intended to uplift the lives of many in Chipinge. As unemployment rate remain high in the country, we have agreed that we will try to recruit quite a number of employees from Chipinge. A ground-breaking ceremony is on the cards where various stakeholders will attend. We hope that if all goes well, the project will be completed in October 2016.

“We are urging other stakeholders to join us in beautifying towns with modern buildings,” she said. The construction of Chipinge Commercial Complex comes after NSSA has finished construction of other state-of-the-art complexes in Gwanda, Bindura and recently in Beitbridge.
