IN a dramatic incident, a nurse stationed at a Bulawayo hospital was beaten lights out after she was allegedly caught getting lovey-dovey with someone’s lover at a local nightclub.
A boozy night out turned nasty for Mellisa Ncube (27) who was downing the wise waters with her friends at a local night sport when a man called Allan walked up to her and sat beside her.
The two allegedly started to chat but when Angel Mpofu (30) from Nketa 9 suburb, who is said to be Allen’s lover, saw the pair sitting close to each other, she allegedly boiled with anger.
The court heard that upon reaching them she allegedly slapped Ncube several times on the face and kicked her, leaving her lying unconscious on the floor.
Imbibers had to step in to restrain Mpofu who was all over her. The nightclub bouncers intervened, took Mpofu and locked her in a room. Ncube was left bleeding and with a swollen face.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Mpofu.
She appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Challenge Mahembe and was remanded out of custody to 30 September.
