ZIFA Southern Region Division One new boys National University of Science and Technology (Nust) recorded their first win of the season beating ZPC Hwange 1-0 in a league encounter over the weekend.
The students have been struggling to collect maximum points since merging with former Premiership outfit Quelaton at the beginning of the year.

They finally got a positive result with the away from home win against seasoned campaigners ZPC Hwange after a series of draws and defeats.

Nust committee member Tawanda Ruzive said it is good that the team is finally winning.
“It was good that we have won away from home and it’s our first win. I believe that the team will continue from here,” he said.

Nust are 11th on the log standings after collecting five points so far while ZPC Hwange are fifth with eight points.
Meanwhile, championship-chasing Tsholotsho thrashed Kwabwe Warriors 3-0 to keep tabs on pacesetters Plumtree Chiefs.

Tsholotsho are sitting third on the log standing with 10 points, three behind Chiefs.
The Lizwe Sweswe coached outfit and Hwange giants Technosphere are top favourites to clinch the promotion berth after Chiefs ruled themselves out of the title fight despite the fine start.

The defending champions Chiefs beat Elephant FC 1-0 to maintain their top spot while Technosphere beat Old Nic Mine 2-0.
Trumus held last season’s runners up Black Boots to a one-all draw.

Chiefs and Technosphere are the only teams yet to concede a goal this season.

Results:
Tsholotsho 3-0    Kabwe Warriors, Black Boots 1-1 Trumus, Portland Cement 0-1 Hwange Juniors, ZPC Hwange 0-1 Nust, Technosphere 2-0 Old Nic Mine, Plumtree Chiefs 1-0 Elephant FC.
