Arab Invitational Cup where her skills charmed everyone.
Nyaumwe impressed the hosts Egypt and Tunisia and was the most popular player in the Zimbabwe delegation as she dictated the pace in the middle of the park and was clearly the outstanding player and best midfielder on show.
Zimbabwe goalkeeper Onai Chingawo was also voted the goalkeeper of the tournament, although she only featured in the first match, where she conceded two goals as the visitors were held to a 2-2 draw by the Pharaohs.
Aces Youth Academy midfielder Nyaumwe, also shone like a beacon for Zimbabwe in their tour of Germany in July and August and she appears ripe for a bigger platform outside the country.
The 24-year-old midfielder said she felt honoured that her skills continue to be recognised whenever the team plays and said it is her dream that one day she will play abroad.
“It always feels good to be getting such recognition. I always strive to do my best whenever I am playing. And it is my wish that one day I will get a professional club outside the country to play for,” said Nyaumwe.
The midfielder plays for Aces, which is in Division One, and puts in a lot of extra training on her own to keep in shape with the rest of her teammates who are playing regularly in the national league.
“We train twice a week at the club and sometimes play friendly matches with teams in the Super League but our team will be playing in the national league next year so there shouldn’t be problems with fitness as we would be playing competitive football again,” said Nyaumwe.
Yesterday, the Mighty Warriors rounded off their tour with a match against Egypt and Tunisia select and hammered the North Africans 4-0.
The match was meant for all the reserve players from the three teams who did not get a chance to feature in the competition.
And for the Zimbabwe squad only striker Samukeliswe Zulu had not had an opportunity to play in any of the two matches after the coaches gave the other players a chance against Tunisia.
The Mighty Warriors won 4-0 and got their goals from Violet Bepete who scored a brace while Rutendo Makore added another goal while the Arabs contributed one as an own goal.
The Egyptians where charmed by Zimbabwe’s performance and expressed willingness to come to Harare to play the Mighty Warriors again.
Egypt will be playing Ethiopia in the African Women Championships qualifiers early next year.
Pharaohs coach Mohammed Fathi said the Mighty Warriors have a bright future.
“Zimbabwe have a good team and the future looks bright. I wish they would continue to support the girl child. I have watched some of their matches and I can see they are not far off from South Africa and with more resources and funding they will be a force to reckon with in Africa.
“Here the FA supports the girl child the same way they do men in terms of kit and funding. The team is still behind teams like Zimbabwe but we are coming up and hope after one year the team will be somewhere,” said Fathi.
Meanwhile, the Mighty Warriors are scheduled to arrive back home this afternoon.
