DYNAMOS captain Ocean Mushure has challenged his teammates to put behind them a tumultuous week and focus on beating relegation-haunted Bulawayo City in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Barbourfields this afternoon.
The Glamour Boys protests culminated in the sacking of the team’s secretary-general Webster Marechera and treasurer Moses Chikwairo.
“We had some minor hiccups in our preparations this week but that can’t stop us from performing our duties as players,’’ said Mushure.
‘’We are happy with the situation at our team and everyone is just motivated to play well against Bulawayo City.
“We should approach this match cautiously, retain concentration and focus on our objective of getting three points.
“This is Bulawayo City, a team which is struggling and fighting for their dear lives in the Premiership. For that reason they can be very dangerous.
‘’You can never underrate a team in the drop zone, they are already motivated by the need to swim from those murky waters. “We have not done what Dynamos should be doing. We have displayed some deficiencies defensively and offensively all season. We are not happy with the position we find ourselves in at the moment.’’
Meanwhile, Chapungu coach Rodwell Dhlakama says victory against Triangle United this afternoon at Ascot will be a significant milestone in his efforts to preserve his team’s Premiership status.
The airmen are just a point above safety and a loss or draw, coupled by a victory for Nichrut, will see them sinking into the danger zone.
“Triangle are a very good team and we need to be at our very best for us to have a chance of getting maximum points. We are not relegation-material and we will definitely not be relegated come the end of the season.
“A win against Triangle will go a long way in making the dream of surviving a reality, if we win tomorrow (today) we will be in line to survive with some games to spare, they are a big team and it will be an important victory,” said Dhlakama.
