ANOTHER Harare derby is on the cards this weekend when defending champions Old Hararians take on giants Harare Sports Club in the National Rugby League.
The Old Boys suffered a close and disappointing 32-36 loss to Old Georgians while Harare Sports Club maintained their unbeaten record with a 14-14 draw at Busters.
This means that the Red Lions are the only side yet to suffer defeat and a top-of the-table clash on Saturday could see a change on the table if Old Hararians win with a bonus point.
Lions team manager Blessing “Bhuru” Chiutare, says being the only side to have beaten former champions Old Georgians this season is a confidence-booster.
“It is going to be a big game for us given that it is a Derby but we are a well-prepared side and we have to come out tops.
“We cannot really read much from the previous games we have played because our encounters against Old Hararians are always a different ball game.
“We know they are a wounded side as they are coming from a defeat at the hands of Old Georgians but we will have to play with caution given their background.
“Winning against Old Hararians would be a big boost for our side, especially on the new and youthful players that have not played against Old Hararians before, and this would be a good foundation for a wonderful season,” said Chitaure.
