One more win for Arenel

ZIFA Southern Region Division One log leaders Arenel Movers are now one win away to get the region’s sole ticket into the country elite football league.

The development comes after the Kudzai Mhandire-coached side hammered hapless Filabusi based Jordan Sinnot 4-0 at White Stadium on Saturday.

At a time the Division One football has reached fever pitch, Arenel Movers are yet to concede defeat in 28 outings.

They have amassed a total of 76 points, 12 ahead of second-placed ZPC Hwange who also walked away with the maximum points after a 3-0 win that came courtesy of a walkover decision against already relegated Mountain Climbers.

Arenel now need a single triumph to clinch the Southern Region League title and march into the local football big boys camp.

With all pointing to the good, their gifted midfielder Leroy Ndlovu has however, warned his teammates to guard against complacency.

Ndlovu underscored the need for them to engage in full celebrations after all the job has been done.

“We still have matches to play. Everyone would want to stop us or spoil our run, that is natural. We should guard against relaxing because it is not yet a job done. We have come very far and it is only us who can bring ourselves down, therefore it is important that we do not change the way we approach any match, how we play and the effort we put,” said Ndlovu.

In their next assignment, Arenel Movers will do duty against fellow seasoned campaigners Indlovu Iyanyathela.

Adachi were the biggest winners of the weekend.

Philani Ncube’s men beat Hwange side DRC United 7-0 at home to record their biggest victory of the season.

They also moved from sixth place to fifth, leapfrogging Mainline who suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of third placed Talen Vision.

Week 28 Results:

Talen Vision 1-0 Mainline, Casmyn 0-1 Mosi Rovers, Ajax Hotspurs 0-1 Bosso90, Arenel Movers 4-0 Jordan Sinnott, Adachi 7-0 DRC.
