One Track, One Region, Athletics Events Gets Confirmations Boost

TWELVE countries from the Southern Africa Region have, alongside guest nation Nigeria confirmed their participation in the track and field championships dubbed ‘One Track, One Region’ at the University of Zimbabwe on July 26 and 27.

National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe director of competitions Manu Mpofu, said on Friday that it was all systems go.

“We are happy that all the countries have confirmed that they are going to be participating, including Nigeria,” said Mpofu.

National team coach Phakamile Lisimati promised fireworks saying as the technical team, they had sat down and come up with a strong team that includes Tendai Zimuto who has already qualified for the World Championships.
