NAMIBIAN forward Sadney Urikhob is the only man who has scored a goal for Dynamos in the past EIGHT hours and 38 minutes of league action going back to November 3 last year.

That was the day when Emmnauel Ziocha and Valentine Kadonzvo scored twice within the first 22 minutes as DeMbare beat FC Platinum 2-0 at Rufaro to all but end the championship dreams of Norman Mapeza and his men.

Kadonzvo scored the insurance goal in the 22nd minute.

And, that marked the last time a Zimbabwean player was on the scoresheet for the Glamour Boys, in a league match, in the last 518 minutes of action.

DeMbare did not score in the next three league games against ZPC Kariba (0-0), Manica Diamonds (0-0) and Ngezi Platinum Stars (0-2) at Baobab.

Urikhob scored for them in their final league game of the season in a 1-2 defeat at the hands of GreenFuel in Chisumbanje.

Urikhob has left DeMbare and moved to newboys Scottland where he made his first appearance on Friday as a second half substitute.

This means that among those who are still part of the Glamour Boys group of players, none of them has scored a league goal for this club in the past EIGHT hours and 38 minutes of league action.

Lloyd “MaBlanyo” Chigowe’s men opened their new campaign with a goalless draw against ZPC Kariba at Rufaro on Sunday.

The stubborn Kariba side, who have been transformed into the ultimate masters of defence in the league by coach Newton Chitehwe, appear to have perfected the art of finding a way to stop Dynamos from scoring.

This was their second visit to Rufaro for a date against DeMbare in the league in the last four months and they also frustrated their hosts as they forced a goalless draw during their visit in November. Dynamos will have to resolve their challenges in front of goal if they are to end an 11-year wait to be champions this season.

They were the only members of the Big Three clubs, which include Highlanders and CAPS United, who failed to score more than 30 goals in the league last season. DeMbare scored 29 league goals in 34 matches while Bosso scored 43 goals and the Green Machine scored 38 goals.

TelOne and Yadah, two clubs who do not have the same levels of expectations like Dynamos, had better goal returns than the Glamour Boys.

TelOne scored 34 goals while Yadah scored 37 goals in a season in which the two clubs even flirted with relegation.

Dynamos did not crack the 30-goal mark last season and they have the likes of Bulawayo Chiefs (23 goals), Chegutu Pirates (22 goals), Arenel Movers (20 goals) and Hwange (24 goals) for company.

Chiefs, Pirates, Arenel and Hwange were all relegated.
