THE Office of the President and Cabinet has congratulated the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa on the occasion of her 62nd birthday saying she has been a pillar of strength to President Mnangagwa through her support of his many development initiatives.
In a statement yesterday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya chronicled the work of the First Lady.
“His Excellency the President, Honourable Vice-Presidents, Honourable Ministers of State, the Chief Secretary, Deputy Chief Secretaries, Permanent Secretaries and staff in the Office of the President and Cabinet join the nation in celebrating the 62nd birthday of Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa.
“Your supportive role to His Excellency the President adds great momentum to the pace at which we are making progress towards the attainment of the national vision to elevate Zimbabwe to an empowered and prosperous upper-middle income society by 2030,” said Dr Rushwaya.
He said the First Lady is contributing immensely to national economic development and the uplifting of livelihoods countrywide through various initiatives where she is the champion of women empowerment, health ambassador, patron of the Angel of Hope Foundation, Agric4She and national culture and heritage.
Dr Rushwaya said the nation is grateful for the First Lady’s tireless efforts that give hope and relief to vulnerable groupings in society such as abandoned people together with victims of drug and substance abuse.
“You have introduced essential services in healthcare and education in many communities, championed environmental stewardship and sustainability, promoted tourism and national hygiene and worked hard to preserve and promote our culture.
“Your love, commitment and dedication to improving the well-being of Zimbabweans have won you recognition, honour and accolades at both national and global events. On this very important and special day in your life, may the Lord continue to give you the strength to carry out your responsibilities for the good of the nation and humanity at large,” he said.
