Bulawayo-BASED musician Otis Ngwabi is working on a new CD compilation which is due for release next month. The 28-year-old talented musician already has a single out called “Ungangitshiyi Sthandwa” and is looking forward to releasing a 10-track album in November. The multi-talented artiste revealed that he was working on new material which he hopes will do well.

On the album Ngwabi said fans should look forward to tracks like “Chinyakare Chedu”, “Hey Mkhwenyana” and “Nomzamo” among others.

“I just want my fans to prepare for a new package from my upcoming album and it is my wish that they are going to enjoy the music,” he said.

He has featured on Wilson Mwale’s single “Wonder” which was released early this month. Mwale, an upcoming dancehall artiste also from the City of Kings and Queens, has so far released two singles titled “Zvinonakidza” and “Wonder” featuring Ngwabi.

Ngwabi also featured on Lovemore Chinyama’s track called “Promises and Lies” which is an urban soul/hip-hop track. Ngwabi, Mwale and Chinyama are signed with Hands on Entertainment in Bulawayo which brought them together.

He said he was working together with upcoming artistes to nurture them. Ngwabi started his musical career at the birth of urban groove music with artistes like Plaxedes Wenyika, Sanii Makhalima and David Chifunyise. Among the prominent figures he has worked with are Albert Nyathi, whom he regards as his mentor, Albert Godwin Mtekedzi and McDonald “McDee” Chidavaenzi.

His hit “Ndiwe Mudiwa Wangu” caused a stir on the airwaves. In 2008 he left the country for South Africa in search of greener pastures. He came back in 2010 and released a track called “Nomzamo” to mark his return and the track made waves on the music scene.

He said he now wants to venture into film and fans should also look forward to seeing him on the big screen. Ngwabi has performed alongside sensational South African singer, songwriter and poet Zahara.
