Over 36 000 Bulilima villagers receive food aid from Government, World Food Programme

GOVERNMENT, working with the World Food Programme (WFP), has started distributing food aid targeting child-headed families, the elderly and people with disabilities in Bulilima District, Matabeleland South Province.

The twinning programme will see Government providing cereals, while WFP provides pulses and cooking oil.

Areas that have received the food aid are Ward 20 (Tjehanga), Ward 21 (Pemu, Ndiweni Business Centre, Thekwane Farm), Ward 3 (Mapango), Ward 5 (Matjinge) and Ward 4 (Tokwana, Makumbi and Nyele).

 

A total of 36 808 villagers from the district’s 21 wards will receive three months’ rations, with the first distribution covering one month and the second distribution covering the remaining two months.
