Over US$618 000 tobacco sold on first day

of 84 542kg valued at US$216, 666 were sold on the first day at an average price of US$2,56.
Boka Tobacco Sales Floor had the highest price of US$4,78 followed by Millennium Tobacco Floors with US$4,76 per kg and Tobacco Sales Floor with US$4,71.
TSF laid 1 008 and sold 980 bales, BTF laid 867 and sold 832 while MTF 203 and sold 186 bales.
Meanwhile, the contract-selling season started on a high note yesterday with prices ranging between US$4,50 and US4,95 per kg.
