P.E hosts 40 teams

PRINCE Edward School will be hoping to retain their title when they host over 40 teams in the Under-20 Basketball day-night tournament next week.The tournament is scheduled for September 19 and 20 at the Prince Edward basketball courts and will feature both boys’ and girls’ teams.

Girls High are the defending champions in the girls’ category.

Prince Edward coach Tapiwa Mungunyana said his side has been doing well in their preparations for the tourney.

“We have been training very hard, all is going on well, we managed to work on certain areas which needed improvement and we are hoping to retain our title.

“The tournament is competitive as it attracts schools from across the country. Lately, there is a lot of competition, many schools are doing well in the sport,” Mungunyana said.

Some of the schools expected to feature in the tournament include St John’s College, St George’s College, Petra, Mutare Boys,  Gateway,  Mufakose 2, Churchill,  Girls High, Nagle House, Peterhouse, Kyle College, Roosevelt,  Heritage, Chipadze, Kwekwe and Watershed.
