P Square jet in on October 11

Zimbabwean acts such as Winky D, Mic Inity, Nox, Chiwoniso Maraire, Amara Brown, Roki, DJ Rax, BaShupi and many others. The Harare International Festival of the Arts, who are organising the Lion Lager Summer Festival, confirmed P Square’s arrival dates.
“Peter and Paul Okoye along with their eight-member band will arrive in Harare on October 11.
“The Nigerian duo will arrive aboard an afternoon South African Airways flight and will hit the ground running with a slew of activities aimed at allowing fans to interact with them,” Tafadzwa Simba, Hifa’s media and community liaison manager, said.
Delta Beverages marketing manager Patricia Murambinda said the highly sought after group will touch down early to allow them to engage in several social responsibility activities.
“Lion Lager is all about lifestyle — one of living fully and responsibility is one of the key elements of enjoyment of life to the full. As a result, our visiting artistes will be engaged in fun and responsible activities for the benefit of the multitudes of their Zimbabwean fans as well as some who are less fortunate and will not be able to attend their show,” said Murambinda.
“We are quite pleased that we have the exclusive opportunity to have P Square in the country for such a comparatively long time before their show because they are highly sought-after and have an extremely tight schedule and such opportunities as they are affording Zimbabweans are rare.”
The activities will start with fans meeting the artistes at the Harare International Airport and have photos taken with P Square.
“It is always difficult to get close to celebrities especially ones of this profile but courtesy of the generosity of Lion Lager, we will arrange for selected fans to have an opportunity to get up close and personal with these icons and come away with a lifetime memento,” she said.
Murambinda said several lucky fans would have pictures taken with the “Beautiful Onyinye” hitmakers. The fans will be chosen through various competitions to ensure an equal chance for committed fans to win the opportunity few ordinary fans get.
Additionally, in an effort to allow as close a level of interaction with fans as possible, the festival’s organisers will hold an autograph-signing session for P Square in Harare’s First Street on Friday October 12.
Tickets have been set at US$15 with a limited number of VIP tickets going for US$40 each and will be sold from October 5 onwards from the Rainbow Towers Hotel. All tickets are for the entire day’s offering of 11 Zimbabwean acts and P Square.
Organisers have said the comparatively low ticket prices were aimed at ensuring the broadest possible access.
