Pair jailed for attack

of guilty when they appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Olivia Mariga.
Ms Mariga sentenced them to 24 months each, but set aside six months for the next five years for both of them.
The court heard that on April 27 this year, at around 8am, at Magodhi Village, Ishmael Tembo (48) was going to work as usual at Jonasi Secondary School accompanied by his two sons. He saw Munjoma, Samson Magodhi and Aaron Magodhi, who is at large, digging for clay in his field. When he approached them demanding to know why they were creating a ditch in his field, an argument ensured.
It was alleged that Aaron armed himself with a shovel and hit Tembo on the head.
Munjoma joined the fight and took an iron bar that he was using to dig and struck Tembo twice on the right hand and leg.
Samson also hit Tembo with a pick.
As a result of the assault, Tembo sustained head injuries and suffered fractures on the hand and leg.
Mr Henry Muringani prosecuted.
