Palestine condemns Israeli actions

Palestine Ambassador to Zimbabwe Tamer Almassri has condemned the recent actions and rhetoric of Israeli leaders, accusing them of undermining the Palestinian authority and jeopardising the future of a sovereign Palestinian state.

The ambassador described Israel’s plans for full annexation of the West Bank and a comprehensive takeover of Gaza as violations of international law and grave threats to the rights of the Palestinian people.

Ambassador Almassri characterised these developments as elements of a broader strategy of genocide, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.

He expressed particular concern over Israel’s ongoing confiscation of Palestinian tax revenues, which he claims aim to cripple the Palestinian economy and exacerbate the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

“The systematic dismantling of the Palestinian Authority by Israel is unacceptable,” said Ambassador Almassri.

“The international community must not remain passive while the foundations of a future Palestinian state are dismantled.

“We urge all nations to fulfil their legal and moral obligations to impose sanctions and hold Israel accountable for its blatant disregard for international law,” said the Ambassador.
