Renowned in football circles as both a benefactor and an astute football mind, Brighton ‘Panjap’ Ushendibaba has a dream!
A dream for an emancipated football ecosystem that equally address three key pillars: development, welfare and corporate governance.
Popularly known as ‘Panjap’, for over a decade he has been vocal about player welfare among other issues and when he announced his candidacy for a seat on the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Board. The election will take place in Harare this Saturday.
Ushendibaba, the Scottland Football Club Vice President, has also been instrumental in the growth and development of Castle Premier League champions, Simba Bhora.
His run in football includes advocacy for improved player and coach welfare, skills development, among retired footballers, education, youth development and the girl child.
“My vision is to use my background and experience to shape the future of football,” Ushendibaba told B Metro Online.
“Safeguarding football’s future, fostering integrity, and ensuring the sport remains a force for good in Zimbabwe will be on top of my agenda.”
Ushendibaba said if elected he plans to champion further development around ensuring the physical and mental well-being of players; harnessing technology to protect fair play and elevate the game, and leveraging the sport as a tool for unity and positive social impact.
