Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Sport tours facilities in Bulawayo

THE Parliamentary Portfolio on Sport is touring facilities in Bulawayo, to get an appreciation about the situation on the ground.

Stakeholders and the committee started the tour with a visit to Khumalo Hockey Stadium a facility used by schools and clubs.

The chairperson of the committee Farai Jere, said preliminary findings pointed to bureaucracy being to blame for the decay of facilities in the country.

He said social amenities should see a multi-sectorial approach where government departments, local authorities and other organisations step in to assist in their rehabilitation.
