Mr Shonhe was standing in for MDC-T secretary-general Mr Tendai Biti.
Cde Mutasa will chair today’s meeting, while Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga will give background to the meeting and Mr Biti a vote of thanks.
“We also agreed that heads of political parties will address the meeting starting with Professor Welshman Ncube then Prime Morgan Tsvangirai and lastly President Mugabe,” Cde Mutasa said.
“The meeting will start at 9am at the Harare International Conference Centre and our understanding is that it is for executive committees of the three political parties.”

Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga said the main objective of the meeting was to demonstrate to the nation that the three political parties in Government were committed to working together.
“We want the presidents (of the parties) to clearly speak to their leadership against violence. For us as initiators of this meeting, the objective is to send the message of peace to the leadership so that it can be cascaded to the grassroots.
“We want to show the country that as leaders we can co-exist and prove that people can disagree, but without resorting to violence. For instance we can disagree and argue in Cabinet but there is never a time when someone picked up a chair to hit another minister.”
She said after the inaugural meeting, more meetings will be convened in the provinces and districts to encourage rival supporters to co-exist.
Mr Shonhe refused to comment yesterday.
