VETERAN gospel singer Pastor Charles Charamba will not go into the studio and record new songs in the near future, it has been learnt.
Instead, the celebrated musician will concentrate on polishing his old songs and producing accompanying videos.
“In the near future, I will not be producing new songs. Instead, I am focusing on my old songs that I am polishing up; therefore, giving them a new lease of life. We will also produce new videos for the songs before uploading them on several online platforms,” Pastor Charamba, who is the founder of Rooted in Christ Ministries, said.
He also wants to catch up with the world in terms of technological advances.
“Unlike in the past, we now have social media which can be effectively used to reach our audience. As part of the new strategy, we are going to fine-tune some of our songs, spice them up with modern instruments and then release them to the public.”
The renowned gospel musician will work closely with some of his church members, who are going to feature as vocalists and new casts for his videos.
“We did it in the past on our album ‘Abba Father.’ On the title track, we featured church members on both the videos and vocals,” he said.
The “Abba Father” album was released in 2017.
According to Pastor Charamba, gospel music is here to stay.
“When we sing, we will also be preaching. The message that we preach from the Bible will last forever. Gospel music can never become stale.”
The musician released his first album titled “Tinashe Akatendeka” in 1997.
He has since produced 10 albums.
