Pastor Mary to record old hymns

The DVD album will feature some of the greatest hymns and choruses from years gone by.
“This is like a revival of old hymns and I am sure those who grew up singing the songs will reconnect with their younger days. I am a big fan of old skool music and I am aware that there many out there who yearn to hear the song from the past,” she explained.

The gig will also see Pastor Lawrence Haisa as a guest performing artiste.
Pastor Mary as she is lovingly known in music circles, recorded her first album titled “It Is Well” after realising that her teachings were not complete without soothing music.

Oddly enough, she started singing at a tender age of 10 and then became a pastor. However, she says music easily becomes her inspiration as it ministers the world of God to the people.

“Basically my music addresses the challenges in life whether it is emotional, physical or spiritually and even heartaches so that at the end of the day somebody gets healed,” she said.
Most of her music are old hymns which she sings and make them her own through her enjoyable singing.
She is married to Pastor Stanley Moyana and the couple has three daughters. They are members of ZAOGA FIF in Msasa Park.

Pastor Mary says one of the challenges she faces everyday was that she works around the clock as besides preaching she is also a counsellor.
“As you are aware people face different problems and I am full time pastor that means I am available 24/7 and that is what I do everyday,” she said.
When it comes to gospel music, she singles out Mai Shingisai Suluma as her favourite musician.
