Pastor Murigo on hymnal album

HOUSE of Power Apostolic Ministries Church leader, Pastor Tinashe Murigo, has revealed that he will this year release a hymnal album in a bid to diversify his music.

In an interview, the shrewd singer said the album will carry only hymnal songs from churches such as United Methodist, Anglican, Seventh Day Adventist and AFM that will be presented in different genres such as Traditional, Afro Jazz and Reggae.

“Our listeners have been coming up with different ideas to improve our music and I have embraced most of them. I will this year release a hymnal album which would carry songs from churches such as United Methodist, Anglican, Seventh Day Adventist and AFM among others. That’s my main resolution for the new year among other wishes and hopes,” he said.

Murigo is currently riding high with two hits “Senondo” and “Zvakabhadharwa” which are topping in the Diamond FM Gospel Super 20. The soulful track, Senondo, recorded by local producer Ngoni Mashezha has been seated on position one for the past five weeks.

“The song is drawn from Psalm 42 where it reads…”as the deer pants for the waters of the streams, so my soul pants for you…” It is a song that always remainof the streams, so my soul pants for you..” weeks as United Methodist, Anglican, Seventh Day Ads my best. I have received tremendous response from listeners and I am inspired. I hope to compose such soothing tracks this year,” he said.

Murigo added that he has lined up joint concerts with local gospel musicians as well as worship nights.

“We have also put on our calendar charity shows to raise to raise money for less privileged people including the elderly at Zororai Old People’s Home,” said the youthful pastor.

He draws his inspiration from gospel musicians controversial Pastor Haisa, Agatha Murudzwa and Donna Chibaya.

He has one album to date titled Zvinofadza sei.

It carries soothing tracks which include “Ari Mandiri Mukuru”, “Hezvo”, “Masuwo Edenga”, “Anorapa Moyo”, “Shamwari Yemoyo” and “Jesu Haashanduke”.
