NYASHA Faith Ministries International Church co-pastor Ellen Anderson has released a DVD for the album, Tirivakundi which is fast proving to be a hit as it is already enjoying airplay after only a week after its release. The five-track album has songs like Mwari vanoziva, Noah, Inyasha Kurarama and Baba Ndinodana.
The title track, Tirivakundi is an encouragement to listeners on how God’s love will remain steadfast to those who hold on to Him in spite of the various challenges life may throw, among them death, rejection, affliction or poverty.
Pastor Anderson expressed excitement at the progress she is making in the music industry.
“I am quite new in the industry, but I am excited because my music seems to be making waves. Tirivakundi is my first album and a 2014 project, but it made it into the ZTV end of year Top 100, with Tirivakundi at Number 26.
“Apart from that, the song was on Number One for two weeks on the radio chart show. Now the DVD is out and after only a week of its release, the video to Tirivakundi hit the airwaves on Music Qalabash and I am overwhelmed with that achievement. I also want to thank God for providing me with talented backing vocalists among them Hazvinei Chifamba and Patrick Nyanzenza,” she said.
The reserved and humble pastor is also into live shows and she last shared the stage with renowned artistes like Agatha Murudzwa, Blessing Shumba and Trymore Bande at the Mutare Hall late last year.
She said she owed all her success to her manager and producer, Olin Anderson who also happens to be her first child.
She, however, lamented the issue of promoters, most of whom she said were reluctant to assist female artistes.
Said Pastor Anderson:“As I am speaking, I have no promoter. Most of them show very little interest in assisting female artistes and I pray for the day that they will give us a chance to prove ourselves and hopefully bridge that gap which is affecting us as female musicians.”
Asked about her aspirations in the industry, Pastor Anderson said she hoped to one day be in a position to be a mentor to upcoming artistes.
“Using music as a way of ministry has always been my passion and I have a good feeling that God will take me far with music. I started this career at the aged of 16, with the inspiration of my brother and former footballer Maronga Nyangela, but everything is becoming a dream come true now. I want, with time to be a stepping stone to other upcoming artistes so that I will help them achieve their dreams too and make it in the industry,” she added.
She also revealed that she was putting final touches on her second album which will feature Pauline, the wife to music icon, Blessing Shumba.
The album will be released at the end of this month.
