MODEL Pauline Marere, who is the first Zimbabwean to win both the semi-final and final round of the Suprachat, is already making preparations for the 16th edition of Miss Supranational beauty pageant on June 27, in Poland.

Pauline will be leaving on Sunday for Poland.

Pauline, who was crowned Miss Supranational Zimbabwe at a ceremony in Polokwane, South Africa, recently, is set to battle it out with more than 70 beauty queens from around the world in Malopolska, Poland.

The beauty queen said she has all the requirements as the owner of Herentals Group of Schools, Professor Innocent Benza, will be sponsoring her journey.

In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Pauline said she is working on her confidence.

“As l head to the finals, I’m glad to announce that l have all the requirements for the journey and the competitions ahead.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Herentaals Group of Schools through the CEO for fully preparing me and sponsoring everything l will need in Poland in order to shine and represent Zimbabwe well.

“I have also been doing catwalk lessons and gym as well in the last two months and l feel ready for the journey.

“Being the first Zimbabwean to win both the semi-final and final round of the Suprachat is a great stride in my career and it’s a moment l will forever cherish.

“It has helped me to be recognised by bloggers internationally and other fellow contestants.

“My greatest wish is to win the final.”

She added:

“When l was announced as the Suprachat winner for both the semi-finals and the finals, l was so excited and shocked at the same time because I’m the first Zimbabwean to ever go that far.

“It gave me so much strength to pursue this journey.

“I believe the networks l will make with the other 75 girls coming for the competition will be of great help to my future goals and I am also eager to learn from others as well and bring that knowledge and experience home.

“I also want to learn what businesses they are pursuing in their various countries and see how best l can do it here as well.”

Pauline, who is no stranger in the pageantry world after bagging the Miss Pan African Queen title in 2019 and was the second runner-up at the Miss Environment International in 2023, said she will leverage the experience gained at these pageants.

“Miss Supranational is the third biggest pageant in the world which encourages young women to do various social projects.

“As the founder of the Gratitude Cleft movement, which focuses on providing free cleft surgeries for babies and adults, l felt this was the most suitable platform for my social initiatives and I believe l will be able to make a positive impact as l raise awareness about the cleft community

“My strategy was to go for public speaking lessons.

“I had always been a great speaker since childhood but l had to look for a coach who helped me to polish my public speaking skills and prepared me to tackle questions.

“I also watched previous Supra chats on YouTube so that l could be well informed.”
