The Zanu-PF leadership in Masvingo province has congratulated the people of the province for the peaceful and orderly elections that were held on Monday this week saying it is a clear testament to maturity of the country’s democracy.

Zanu-PF Masvingo chairperson Cde Ezra Chadzamira said he was heartened that voting was completed without any incident of violence something, that showed that the people of Masvingo and Zimbabweans as a whole, heeded President Mnangagwa’s call for a peaceful and non-violent election.

Cde Chadzamira, who retained the Masvingo West National Assembly seat in Monday’s election, also expressed confidence that Zanu-PF was going to resoundingly win the polls across the province.

“The election was very peaceful and the province recorded zero cases of violence,” he said.

“I am confident we will win this election here in Masvingo and as it stands (yesterday) results have not been officially announced, but I am confident that ZANU-PF will retain most, if not all the seats in the province.”

Cde Chadzamira commended The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) for managing the just-ended election in a very professional way. He said voting was fast and queues were quickly cleared at various polling stations.
