Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run accident

A PEDESTRIAN sustained injuries after being hit while crossing the road by a vehicle that did not stop following the incident early Thursday morning along Mutare-Chimanimani Road.

Posting on theie X (formely Twitter) handle, police said the pedestrian was ferried to and admitted at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.

“Police in Mutare are investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred last Thursday around 4am along Mutare-Chimanimani Road where a pedestrian was injured.

“An unknown motorist hit the victim who was crossing the road. As a result, the victim landed on the windscreen and fell on the ground. The motorist did not stop after the accident.

“The victim is admitted at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital. Anyone with information leading to thw arrest of the suspect must report at any nearest police station,” reads the post.
